President of the Board
Destination: Art is actively seeking to fill the position of President. Below is the job description for this important leadership role. The President leads and inspires the Officers, Board, Staff and Membership. They possess a keen interest in community arts and the arts in general. The President shares their passion for the arts and performs the following duties:
Supports the successful execution of the Destination: Art Mission, including oversight of all planning and execution of the outreach programs, education activities, exhibitions and events required to fulfill the Mission
Runs the monthly board meetings
Directs the Treasurer to provide financial data to the board for decision making and oversees the annual budget
Ensures legal compliance
Helps recruit, train and evaluate staff
Oversees the Board Structure and Advisory Committees

This volunteer position does not include a salary but provides value and satisfaction in leading our prestigious art organization. This includes a dedicated staff, the joy of working with a talented art community, a collaborative and energetic Board of Directors, and the gratitude of its membership.
Requirements:
Ability and desire to collaborate with and influence diverse groups in and outside of our organization
Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
Management and non-profit organization experience preferred
Development Consultant
Destination: Art is seeking a Development Consultant for a short-term engagement to provide strategic direction with the goal of professionalizing and systematizing Destination: Art’s fundraising and donor engagement program.
The Consultant will work closely with members of the Board of Directors to identify and assess potential sources of contributed revenue, including grassroots donors, major donors, corporations, foundations, grants and fundraising events.
In addition, the Consultant will work with the Board to refine Destination: Art’s messaging and develop materials that communicate the value proposition of supporting in a way that appeals to varying segments of prospective donors.
Finally, a warm prospect list will be developed by identifying individuals and institutions with the propensity to become donors and identifying grant opportunities.
While it is expected that this engagement will be for up to three months, it is anticipated that a longer part-time engagement is possible.
Anticipated compensation: $9,000.

Destination: Art is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, and community hub for art serving South Bay LA. We opened our doors in 2014, with the unique combination of artists’ studios and a gallery. We average 40 classes and workshops per year with renowned local and international instructors. Three community outreach programs offer art experiences to the public: FRIENDS of Destination: Art in partnership with the Autism Society of LA; Creative Conversations with key opinion leaders on creativity in business and careers; and Art 4 Everyone for those who think they are not artistic.
